Connecting and Streaming Oculus Quest 2 VR headset to iPhone and iPad

- Go to the iOS or Apple App Store on your iPhone or iPad and search for the Oculus Quest app in the search bar. When you find the app tap on it to download and install it on your iPhone or iPad.
- You also need to make sure that your iPhone or iPad is running Apple iOS version 10 or higher.
- If you have already installed the Oculus Quest app on your iPhone or iPad, you should update it to its latest version.
- Once the Oculus Quest app is installed and updated on your iPhone or iPad, launch or open the app
- Next, turn on your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and pair it with the Oculus app on your iPhone or iPad. Here is how you can do it –
- Open the Oculus app and sign in with your Facebook or Oculus account credentials.
- Make sure your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset is fully charged and connected to the same WiFi network as your iPhone or iPad
- Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad and keep it close to your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset for strong Bluetooth connectivity
- Now, on the Oculus app screen, tap on the “Devices” option and tap on the name of the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset that you own
- Now, your headset will automatically connect to your iPhone via the Oculus app
- Now that your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset is connected to your iPhone or iPad, find the Cast option on the Oculus Quest app screen. It is present in the upper right-hand corner of the app screen (the headset icon with the WiFi symbol)

- When you select your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset from the list, the red indicator light will turn green which means the connection has been successfully established.

- You will be provided with a video feed of the stream when the connection is in process. You can see the feed but cannot control it via any actions unless the connection is casting is completed.

Casting Directly from your Oculus Quest 2 to your iPhone or iPad
You can also use your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset to cast and stream your VR content to your iPhone or iPad. Here is how you can do it –
- First, you need to make sure that your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset is paired or connected to the Oculus Quest app on your iPhone or iPad. You can follow the steps provided above regarding pairing.
- Next, you need to confirm that your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and your iPhone or iPad are hooked to the same internet or WiFi network.
- Now, wear or put on your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and find the Sharing option using the controllers or the Trigger. You will find it in the “Utilities” bar (mostly the second option)
- Select the Sharing Menu and you will be presented with a list of available sharing or casting methods
- Select the cast option from the list of methods
- When you select the cast option, you will be again presented with a list but this time with a list of the available device as destinations for casting.
- From the list, select the “Oculus app” for casting
- At last, select the “Next” option to commence or start casting from your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset to your iPhone (On the Oculus Quest app).

Things you will need to cast and stream your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset to your Apple TV device –
- Apple TV with the latest firmware and AirPlay 2 enabled
- A good internet or WiFi connection
- iPhone or iPad
- Oculus Quest 2 VR headset with updated Oculus Software
Here are the steps to follow to connect and stream your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset to your Apple TV –
- First, you need to make sure that you are signed in on your Apple TV and iPhone with the same Apple ID
- Now, you need to open the “Settings” option on your Apple TV and find the “AirPlay” option
- When you find it select the “AirPlay” option and then choose the “Room” option
- You need to choose the room in your house where your Apple TV is installed
- Now, you can follow the instructions on the screen to complete the remaining process.
- Next, you will have to start casting from your Oculus Quest to your iPhone or iPad on the Oculus Quest app. You can follow the steps mentioned above for the same.
- Once the VR content starts streaming on your iPhone or iPad, you need to open the control center on your iPhone or iPad by dragging it down from the top on your iOS device.
- From the list of options (like WiFi, and torch) find the “Screen Mirroring” option and tap on it

- From the list of available devices, select the name of your Apple TV so that the streaming on the Oculus app on your iPhone or iPad is mirrored to your Apple TV

- To disconnect the mirroring, simply tap on the “Screen Mirroring” option again on your iPhone or iPad and you are good to go.
Connecting and Streaming Oculus Quest 2 VR headset to your MacBook or iMac via the browser
Here is how you can connect and stream your Oculus Quest VR headset to your MacBook or iMac without much worry or any other extra app or hack.
- First, connect your Macbook (or iMac) to the same WiFi network as your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and make sure that the WiFi connection is fast and stable
- Now, make sure you have a compatible browser installed for streaming on your MacBook or iMac. If not, download and install either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your MacBook or iMac.
- Now, go to the Oculus Website on the compatible browser that you just downloaded and visit the official webpage of the Oculus Quest
- When prompted, log in with your Oculus or Facebook account credentials or login ID.
- Once logged in, you will land on the homepage of your Oculus account
- Find the Casting Receiving option and click on it
- You will land on a new page called “Casting”
- Now, you need to turn on your Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and put it on
- Using the Triggers or Controllers, find the “Sharing” option on your VR
- When you click on the Sharing options in the Utility panel, you will see a bunch of sharing methods
